I twirled where the sea kissed the sun-warmed sand,
In the open field where Salsa echoed on land.
With the sun watching, my spirit step,
In the soft sunny sky my soul too could float.
She sent coastal music,
Which at the ocean,
Bachata blossomed,
In the air around my heart.
Kizomba slow held me close
With a pulse of love
That was a lovely bite
Of love that tasted just right.
In a blaze of love,
Time stopped, lost
As I moved for a while.
In every workshop,
I learned something,
With heart, not
Steps, leading the rhythm.
While rhythm swayed,
In soft cascade the sun,
We swam in pools, laughing,
While the pools giggled too.
As a moving floor,
The yacht came to be
With sea stars for our
Dance that simply can’t be ignored,
While we rained.
We shared speaking
Motion not roles as
There where no strangers,
But kindred feelings to be,
With love’s around.
In a world, that
Welayed me with open arms,
I moved, smiled, floated
And kindly journeyed.
This wasn’t simply a
Weekend journey,
But a full-on spirit
And soul with gentle fight.
To be deeply seen,
To move, feel, even
Silence come softly,
Joins as a gentle friend.
So, I tell what travels,
Met me at the shores,
Still where the ocean
Breeze lightly calling.
The boundless me community,
Loved me raw so kind
In kind madding the rhythm,
Healed with so fast,
Us.
I’ll come back when the shoreline beckons again,
Where laughter spills and love can reign.
Where the Afro Latin rhythms are produced,
And in every step, we all say: WE ARE ONE.
